Board President

Yvonne Harrison serves as Board President of Healthy H.E.A.R.T.S., bringing decades of leadership, strategic insight, and deep community commitment to the organization. A foster parent for 25 years, Yvonne has firsthand experience supporting young women aging out of foster care and understands the long-term, holistic care they need to thrive.

As a Postmaster with the United States Postal Service, Yvonne led multimillion-dollar operations and earned multiple awards for excellence in safety, customer service, and organizational performance. A lifelong commitment to public service and community development aligns with her professional leadership.

For more than 30 years, Yvonne has advanced affordable housing, family stability, and community empowerment through her service with the Montgomery County Housing Opportunities Commission. She also served as President of the St. Jude AME Church Community Development Corporation, where she championed youth leadership initiatives, life skills programming, and community-based support services.

Yvonne’s involvement with Patuxent River (MD) Chapter of the Links, Incorporated, and the Department of Health and Human Resources further reflects her commitment to mentorship, capacity building, and expanding access to resources for families and young people. With an academic background in nutrition and dietetics from Texas Woman’s University, she brings a holistic, mission-driven approach to wellness, equity, and sustainable community impact.

As Board President, Yvonne continues to leverage her experience, relationships, and passion for service to strengthen partnerships, inspire investment, and advance the mission of Healthy H.E.A.R.T.S., which supports the mental, physical, and spiritual well-being of women and families in crisis.
