LaChica King

Founder, ED

LaChica King is a U.S. Army veteran, Medical Specialist, and graduate of I.T.G.W. Theological Seminary School whose life’s work is rooted in service, healing, and advocacy. Having personally experienced many of the childhood and adult traumas that Healthy H.E.A.R.T.S. seeks to prevent, she felt a deep calling to create meaningful change for women and families facing crisis.

In 2002, as a 22-year-old single mother transitioning out of the military, LaChica began providing food, emergency assistance, and shelter to women and families in need, while navigating challenges of her own. What began as small acts of compassion evolved into a mission centered on dignity, support, and hope.

That mission became Healthy H.E.A.R.T.S., a faith-based nonprofit organization dedicated to uplifting young women aging out of the foster care system, supporting veteran women transitioning to civilian life, and providing emergency assistance to single parents.

Today, LaChica leads Healthy H.E.A.R.T.S. in delivering life-skills training, personal development, emotional support, and pathways to independent living. Guided by lived experience and faith, she remains committed to ensuring that no woman or family has to face hardship alone.
